Michael Jackson Has been a name that I grew up with & was synonymous with his famous “Moonwalk”. Now I know he has been in the media for years for all the weird things he was accused of doing. That said & done, there is no doubt that this man made amazing music & could he dance.
We shall surely miss him & below enjoy Thriller from the worlds Best Selling Album “Thriller”
Bon Voyage!!!
Isn’t that just the best. We will miss him.
I wish I could explain
what chaos yesterday had been. It was a bit of a “Human Traffic” type situation. Like the British movie about club culture. (An absolute must see if you a secret stash of white gloves somewhere…or well if not)
Anyway. Yesterday went something like this. I was one really disappointed puppy when I found out that, because of my own idiocy I didn’t get hold of tickets to go see one of my all time favourite Djs. Global dance brand, Godskitchen and Urban Wave brought Armin van Buuren to SA to come wow the crowds. To make it a double whammy; the tickets were all sold out. (what a surprise…Note hint of sarcasm)All of my ‘chosen family’ (watch the movie) were set. With about 12 hours before the party I set out on the very unlikely quest to find two tickets.
I must admit that I became quite worried when I saw that it seemed that
everybody else had left it last-minute-dot-com too. And the entrepreneurs were laughing all the way to the bank. Tickets were selling for up to 2800 smackaroos…Yes I couldn’t believe it was possible either. Were there really people with that much money and that little sense? (Well I guess it is a situation of supply and demand) I think it must have been fate. With a few hours to spare an angel of a woman happen to find herself in a situation, knowing people that couldn’t go anymore. She organised me not one,…not two, but three tickets. I wanted to drop dead at that exact spot I was that happy.
We proceeded to start the evening with 100% Agave…Enough about my tequila drinking habits though. Point being, we were suited-up and ready to party. The drizzle and the gale force winds did not deter the eager house/dance/rave (whatever you want to call it) enthusiast and they weren’t disappointed. The Bellville Velodro was packed.
**The ZestCulture team found it odd that we were told no cameras were allowed when nearly every single mobile phone on the market now has a camera in it? Seriously?!**
Godskitchen showcased their ‘Boombox Concept’ to South Africa. It is a unique architectural, multimedia, visual and music concept. The structure that stands at 16m wide, 8m high and 6m deep, combines projection technology, hidden lighting and special effects to create this amazing visual show. Adding a whole new dimension to the performance.
Dean Fuel had a good set. Proving that South African DJs can give the international ones a run for their money. But anticipation was building and all the crowd wanted was the man they all came for…they all started calling Armin’s name.
The second Armin stepped on stage and started his set the crowd went ballistic. I was blown away by the Boombox structure. Talk about sensory overload! The crowd lapped up every element of his performance. Wow. He put most other live performances of its kind in South Africa to shame. Definitely an evening to remember!
Here is the preview to Human Traffic. The Milky Bars are on me!
Very cool Video. This took 3 months of planning, 4 days of shooting and 6000 + Post-it notes
Very cool.
I spotted this clip on YouTube. I think these kind of flash mobs are great. I think we can do with something like this is South Africa. This could make for a good reality TV show..
The Hiiiiills are alive with the sound of music! Brings back memories. What do you guys think? What kind of flash mobs do you think would be funny to do in an South African context?
This is definitely one of my Favourite videos on the net ZestCulture readers.
You either love it or you hate it. ;-)
